Using your 16-17 Saver
A 16-17 Saver gets you 50% off most rail fares every day of the year with no time restrictions and no minimum fare.
You can use 16-17 Saver discounted tickets to travel across the National Rail network, except on ScotRail and Caledonian Sleeper services.
You can buy and travel with discounted tickets up until the expiry date of your 16-17 Saver. If you buy a discounted Season ticket before the expiry of your 16-17 Saver, you can continue to use this Season ticket for up to 4 months after your 16-17 Saver has expired, as long as your Season ticket is still valid. The expiry date and the date that you can use your Season ticket until are shown on your 16-17 Saver.
Some train companies and/or local authorities also offer young people discounts on rail fares. If you live in Scotland, check out the Young Scot card.
